"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
John 1:5
Our Mission
Heavy Music. Holy Purpose.
Light Shield exists to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ into places where it's rarely heard — mosh pits, dive bars and headphones turned all the way up. Every riff is worship. Every lyric points to the Cross. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that His love is louder than any darkness.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Ephesians 6:10–18
Put On the Full Armor
Our name comes from the shield of faith. This is what we stand for.
Belt of Truth
Ephesians 6:14
We stand on what is true — no compromise, no apology.
Breastplate of Righteousness
Ephesians 6:14
Made right not by our strength, but by His grace.
Shield of Faith
Ephesians 6:16
Extinguishing every flaming arrow of the evil one.
Sword of the Spirit
Ephesians 6:17
The Word of God — sharper than any riff we could write.

The Word
Verses We Stand On
The scriptures that fuel every song and every show.
"The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?"
"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles."
"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!"
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning."
"Neither death nor life, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Founder & Frontman
Levi Mayer
Levi started Light Shield with one conviction: metal and the message of Christ belong together. Leading the band from the front, he writes songs that wrestle honestly with struggle and always land on hope — the hope found only in Jesus.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
